If at anytime the flame should extinguish, lets say from a gust of wind, Flame Sense will detect this and automatically shut of the flow of gas to your fire pit for safety. You would then be required to manually shut of the gas valve and re-light your fire pit. Can be used with Liquid Propane or Natural Gas.
